Devotional: When There’s Not Enough — That’s When God Steps In

What do you do when you have nothing left… but a promise?

When the bills are due…
When the cupboard is bare…
When your efforts aren’t enough…

This was the widow’s story in 2 Kings 4. Her husband had died. Her sons were about to be taken. All she had left was a small jar of oil and a word from a prophet.

And that’s all God needed.

“Then he said, ‘Go, borrow containers from all your neighbors, empty containers—and not just a few… pour the oil into all these containers.’ And she did. And the oil flowed… and they sold the oil, paid the debt, and lived on the rest.” — 2 Kings 4:3–7 (AMP)

God turned lack into overflow.
Debt into freedom.
A crisis into a testimony.

Today, that same miracle-working God is with you.

Prayer of the Day: Multiply My Little, Lord

Father, I thank You for being the God of miracles and multiplication. Today I bring You what I have—my ideas, my resources, my time, my effort. Like the widow, I may feel like it’s not enough. But I know when You breathe on it, it becomes more than enough. Multiply my little, O Lord. Let the oil of provision flow into every dry area of my life. Let lack become overflow, and delay become divine supply. I trust You as my Source. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Entering God’s Presence with Thanksgiving

Thank You, Lord, for every jar that didn’t run dry this month. Thank You for provision, even when I didn’t see how it would come. Thank You for breathing on my efforts and multiplying what I placed in Your hands. You are faithful and generous. I give You praise!

Lord, forgive me for doubting Your ability to provide. Forgive me for looking at the lack instead of lifting up what I have to You. Cleanse me from anxiety and scarcity. I repent for every fearful word and faithless thought. Restore my trust in Your supernatural supply. In Jesus’ name.

Father, I lift up every household in need today. I pray for single parents, job seekers, small business owners, and those overwhelmed with bills—send help from heaven!
Let there be supernatural provision and unexpected favor.
I pray for ministries, churches, and nonprofits with limited resources—breathe increase into them.
Restore every person who has lost income, clients, or opportunities.
And for those who feel they have “nothing left,” show them the oil in their house.
💡Tip: Pray over specific names of those struggling financially and bless them with the miracle of multiplication.

Heavenly Father,
In the mighty name of Jesus,
I present my oil—the little I have—before You.

I declare that no matter how small, You are able to make it overflow.
