Devotional – Nothing Escapes His Grip
Some losses are loud. You see them coming. You feel the impact.
But other losses are quiet. Subtle. Things slip away so slowly you don’t notice until they’re almost gone. Peace erodes. Joy fades. Opportunities drift. Relationships cool. Health weakens. Finances leak. And before you know it, you’re standing with less than you started with—wondering how it happened.
Isaiah 42:22 paints a sobering picture of what happens when things slip away unchecked: “But this is a people plundered and looted, all of them trapped in pits or hidden away in prisons. They have become plunder, with no one to rescue them; they have been made loot, with no one to say, ‘Send them back'” (NIV). A people with no one to demand restoration. No one to say, “Send them back.”
But you are not without a Rescuer.
You have a God who sees what’s slipping. A God who reaches into the cracks where things are leaking out. A God who says, “Send them back”—and heaven responds.
Today’s prayer is not about accepting loss as inevitable. It’s about partnering with the God who restores. The God who recovers. The God who refuses to let what belongs to you simply slip away uncontested.
If something has been quietly leaving your life, today you call it back. If something is trying to slip through your fingers, today you tighten your grip—with God’s hand over yours.
Daily Spiritual Posture
Come with awareness that God sees what you’ve been losing. Stand in faith that He is able to restore what’s slipping. Refuse to accept quiet loss as normal or inevitable. Together, we declare restoration over everything trying to leave our hands.
Daily Prayer for December 20 2025
This is a day to recover. To call back. To refuse silent loss. God is not passive about what belongs to you—and neither should you be. Let His Word fuel your faith for restoration.
Main Scripture
Isaiah 42:22 (NIV) “But this is a people plundered and looted, all of them trapped in pits or hidden away in prisons. They have become plunder, with no one to rescue them; they have been made loot, with no one to say, ‘Send them back.'”
A Sacred Pause
Pause for 30 seconds. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything that has been quietly slipping away—peace, health, connection, opportunity. Hold it before God and ask Him to restore it.
Prayer of the Day
Father, I thank You that You see everything that has been slipping from my hands. Nothing escapes Your notice. Today I refuse to accept quiet loss as my portion. You are my Rescuer—the One who says, “Send them back.” Restore what the enemy has tried to steal slowly. Recover what has been leaking out unnoticed.
Entering God’s Presence with Thanksgiving
Lord, I enter Your presence with gratitude and expectation. Thank You for being a God who restores, not just sustains. Thank You for seeing the losses I didn’t even notice. I praise You for being attentive to the details of my life. You are the Redeemer who buys back what was lost. Nothing is too far gone for Your recovering hand.
A Moment of Reflection and Confession
Father, I confess that I’ve let some things slip without a fight. I’ve accepted erosion as if it were normal. I’ve watched blessings leak away and done nothing. Forgive me for passivity in the face of subtle loss. Awaken me to what needs to be recovered. Give me the faith to call back what has been leaving.
Interceding for Others
Lord, I pray for my family—restore anything slipping from their hands. Recover lost peace, lost health, lost connection. I lift up my church—let nothing precious be quietly stolen from the body. Strengthen leaders to guard against subtle erosion. I pray for believers around the world—may the global Church experience divine recovery. Let Your people rise up and say, “Send them back!”
Personal Petition
Heavenly Father, In the mighty name of Jesus, O Lord, I stand on Your Word today—I will not be a people plundered with no one to rescue. You are my Rescuer. You say, “Send them back.”
I take a moment to name my specific situation before You today.
Father, I declare restoration over everything trying to slip from my hands. I call back the peace that has been eroding—return to me now. I call back the joy that has been fading—be restored in full. I call back the health that has been weakening—strength, return to my body. I call back the finances that have been leaking—overflow, come back to me. I call back the relationships that have been cooling—warmth and connection, be renewed. Lord, I refuse to be plundered in silence. I refuse to be looted without resistance. You are my Defender and my Restorer. What the enemy has tried to take quietly, You return loudly. I tighten my grip with Your hand over mine. Father, restore anything that tries to slip away—nothing is lost in Your hands.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

Wisdom for Deeper Understanding
The enemy doesn’t always steal with a loud invasion. Sometimes his strategy is erosion. A little peace stolen here. A little joy siphoned there. Slowly. Quietly. Until one day you look around and realize you’re living with far less than God intended.
Isaiah 42:22 describes a tragic condition—a people plundered with no advocate. No one standing up to say, “Send them back.” But that’s not your story. You have an Advocate. You have a Redeemer. You have a God who specializes in recovery.
The Hebrew concept of restoration isn’t just about getting back what was lost. It’s about getting back more. It’s about the enemy being forced to repay. When God restores, He doesn’t just replace—He multiplies.
So today, stop watching things slip away in silence. Open your mouth. Declare recovery. Partner with the God who says to every thief, every scheme, every slow leak: “Send them back.”
As Smith Wigglesworth boldly declared: “There is nothing impossible with God. All the impossibility is with us when we measure God by the limitations of our unbelief.”
PrayerPrompt Faith Activity
- Identify one thing that has been quietly slipping away from your life—peace, health, joy, connection.
- Write a specific restoration declaration over it using Joel 2:25.
- Speak aloud: “I refuse quiet loss. I call this back in Jesus’ name.”
- Thank God in advance for the restoration that is already in motion.
Final Encouragement
You don’t have to watch your blessings leak away in silence.
You don’t have to accept erosion as normal.
You serve a God who sees every subtle theft, every slow drain, every quiet loss—and He is able to restore it all. Not partially. Fully. Not eventually. Now.
Today, you’re not standing by passively. You’re standing in faith. You’re opening your mouth. You’re declaring that what tries to slip away is coming back.
Heaven backs that declaration.
Say it boldly: “Father, restore anything that tries to slip away from my hands—in Jesus’ name!”
As evening comes, return to Him once more. Evening Prayers can help you end the day secure, knowing that God is still recovering what belongs to you even while you rest.
Watch Today For…
Watch for sudden returns—peace that shows up unexpectedly, connections that warm again, strength that rises without explanation. Watch for God’s restoring hand in the details. Watch for evidence that what was slipping is now coming back.
