Devotional: When Discouragement Tries to Settle

Discouragement is a silent thief.
It doesn’t always come with loud attacks—it creeps in quietly, one disappointment at a time.
A delayed answer.
An unexpected setback.
A promise that feels far away.

But discouragement is not from God.
It is a weapon of the enemy to drain your faith and weaken your prayers.
The longer you entertain it, the heavier it becomes—until it convinces you that hope is pointless.

Romans 15:13 (AMP) says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.”
This is your reminder that hope is not something you have to generate—it’s something God fills you with.
Discouragement cannot stay where hope is overflowing.

Today, you will rise above discouragement.
You will not carry yesterday’s heaviness into today’s assignment.
You will choose expectancy over despair, praise over silence, and faith over fear.
