That kind of thinking feels humble, but it is actually rooted in a lie, because it places your performance at the center of a story that was written around His grace.

Then comes 2 Timothy 1:9 like a hand on your shoulder. God “saved us and called us with a holy calling, not because of our works or merit, but because of His own purpose and grace which was granted to us in Christ Jesus before time began.” Before time began. Before your first success or your worst failure. The call was already placed.
