You gave everything today. Not dramatically, not all at once, but steadily, like a candle that has simply burned down to the wick. The meetings, the decisions, the care you extended to people who needed you, the effort that no one quite saw. And now it is evening, and the honest truth is that you are spent.

There is a particular kind of tired that goes deeper than the body. It is the tired of a person who has poured from a cup they did not have time to refill. You know that tired. Tonight may be one of those nights.

And then Romans 8:11 opens like a window in a stuffy room: “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” Not will one day arrive.
