Quickened by the Indwelling Spirit

Today's Scripture

Romans 8:11 (ESV): "If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you."

Evening Spiritual Posture

Before bringing a single word, take one slow breath and acknowledge where you are: seated with Christ, above the drain of this day, not beneath it. Ephesians 2:6 says God "raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus." That is your true position right now.

Entering God's Presence

Father, I come to You with a grateful heart, worn but not without worship. You are the Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps, and I thank You that Your watchfulness tonight is absolute (Psalm 121:3-4, NIV).

Prayer for the Night

Lord, You promised that those who wait on You will renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31, NKJV). I wait on You now. I trust the indwelling Spirit to do in me overnight what I cannot manufacture through effort.

Interceding for Others

Father, I lift every person tonight who is more depleted than I am, who has no language left for prayer. Let the same Spirit who dwells in me minister to them in ways they cannot yet see.

Let prayer become daily.
