You do not know exactly what this day holds. That is honest, and there is no shame in it. The morning stretches out ahead of you and somewhere in it there are conversations, decisions, and moments you cannot predict. The temptation is to grip the day tightly before it even begins, bracing against what might go wrong.

Here is what Joshua discovered at the edge of his own impossible morning: God did not wait for Joshua to figure it out first. He spoke before Joshua stepped forward. “Have I not commanded it? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9, AMP). That word “commanded” is not gentle suggestion. It is the authority of heaven pressed into one man’s chest before a single step was taken.
