Some mornings you wake up already feeling like you are on the outside of something, like there is a conversation happening without you, a room you have not been invited into. Prayer can feel that way too, as if you need the right words, the right emotional state, or a clean enough record before you dare knock.

Then Ephesians 3:12 lands with the quiet force of something that changes everything: “In him we have boldness and confident access through faith in him” (CSB). Not access earned by effort. Not access restored on your best days. Access given, held open, and secured in Jesus alone.

The Greek word translated “confident access” carries the picture of a harbor, a safe place where a ship can enter freely without fear of being turned away. Jesus is that harbor.
