The warnings are going out. The skies are changing. And right now, thousands of families are watching Hurricane Genevieve and wondering what comes next. Some are packing what they can. Some have already evacuated. Some are refusing to leave the only home they have ever known.

Some cannot leave. They are staying, in their homes, in shelters, in the structures they hope will hold. This prayer is for them. It asks God to be a wall when walls feel thin.
God, I am staying put and I am trusting You to be my shelter. You said in Psalm 27:5 that in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion (Psalm 27:5, NKJV). I hold onto that promise now. Be a wall around this place. Strengthen every structure, calm every fear, and let Your peace stand guard over my heart while the storm passes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
5. A Prayer for First Responders and Emergency Workers
Firefighters, paramedics, rescue teams, and National Guard members are heading toward the danger that everyone else is fleeing. These men and women need prayer that is specific, bold, and believing. Pray this for every first responder on duty right now.
Father, I lift up every first responder entering harm’s way today. Strengthen their bodies, sharpen their minds, and guard their lives. God commands the weather. He spoke to the wind and the waves on the Sea of Galilee and they obeyed. We can pray with the same confidence, not demanding, but believing that the God who holds the storm in His hands is moved by the prayers of His people. 11. A Prayer for the Displaced and Homeless After the Storm
Shelters fill up fast. Hotels run out of rooms. Families double up in strangers’ homes. The displaced need more than a roof, they need the peace that comes from knowing they have not been forgotten.
