Growing in Love, Patience, and Self-Control

Today's Scripture

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." (Galatians 5:22-23, CSB)

Daily Spiritual Posture

Enter this prayer seated with Christ, above the noise and reactions of the day, in union with Him who is the source of every fruit the Spirit bears. You are not begging for character you lack. You are agreeing with what the Spirit is already cultivating in you.

Entering God's Presence

Father, I come before You with a grateful heart. You are the God who began a good work in me and You are faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6, CSB). I enter Your presence not by my effort but by the blood of Jesus, which has given me full and free access (Hebrews 10:19, CSB).

Prayer of the Day

Spirit of God, Your Word declares that the fruit of the Spirit is love, patience, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23, CSB). I agree with that Word today. I do not pray for these things as though they are far off. I pray for them as a branch prays by staying rooted in the Vine (John 15:4-5, CSB).

Interceding for Others

Father, I bring before You those in my life who are struggling in this same place, those fighting impatience with difficult people, those losing the battle with self-control, those finding love hard to offer today. Let the same Spirit who works in me work powerfully in them.
