Memory verse: And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. – Galatians 6:9 (KJV)

Some people attain a level of success in life and believe they have reached the pinnacle of success, so they stop doing the things that helped them become successful. Before long, however, they often come to the realization that they have begun to regress. This is why, if you have found a key that has helped you make progress in any area of your life and become successful, you must keep using it. The moment a fellow stops doing the things that helped him or her to become successful, such a person will begin to regress.

Genesis 26:12-14 says:

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

Isaac sowed in a time of famine because God told him not to leave the land (Genesis 26:2). He sowed the first year and had a hundred-fold return. However, he didn’t stop there. I imagine that in the second year, he sowed again, and because he had a hundredfold more than he used to have, he sowed a hundred times more seeds than he sowed the first year and reaped an even greater harvest. I imagine that he kept sowing year after year, thereby compounding his harvest. As a result, he continued to progress until it reached a point that his prosperity became very evident. He became so prosperous that the king of the country came to tell him that he had become mightier than the entire nation, even though he was an immigrant (Genesis 26:16). Isaac didn’t stop at one level of prosperity; he kept sowing and moving forward until an entire nation envied him.

Of a truth, it is God who gives prosperity. In 1 Corinthians 3:6, Paul said, “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” Paul may plant, Apollos may water, but it is God who ultimately gives the increase. However, there will be no increase if nothing has been planted and watered. This means that the more seeds you plant, the greater your harvest should be. Based on the principle of sowing and reaping, when a person stops planting and watering, the flow of prosperity and increase will also stop. Beloved, do not be tired of sowing because that is the key to perpetual prosperity.

Open Heaven Prayer Points for Today

These Open Heaven prayer points for today are original PrayerPrompt content, declarations and a reflection to turn today’s message into prayer.

Prayer Points

  • Lord, grant me a spirit of endurance that refuses to abandon the disciplines and practices You have used to bring me this far in life.
  • Father, wherever I have grown complacent after a season of blessing, reignite my hunger and restore the habits of faithfulness in me.
  • Teach me, Holy Spirit, to see every act of giving, serving, and obedience as a seed with an appointed harvest season I must not forfeit by quitting early.
  • God of increase, multiply the seeds I have already sown in faith, in my finances, relationships, ministry, and personal growth, and let their fruit become evident to all around me.
  • Lord, remove every discouragement, comparison, and weariness that tempts me to slow down or stop planting, and replace it with joyful perseverance.
  • Father, as You directed Isaac even in a season of famine, give me the wisdom to sow at the right time, in the right place, and with the right heart, trusting You for the outcome.
  • Let my life become a testimony of compounding grace, each season of obedience building on the last, until Your glory is undeniably displayed through my story.
  • Lord, align my hands with generosity and my heart with gratitude, so that sowing becomes a lifestyle and not merely an occasional act.

Declarations

  • I will not grow weary in doing good, for I know that my due season of harvest is secured by God's unfailing promise.
  • I am a consistent sower, my hands remain open, my faith remains active, and my expectation remains in God who alone gives the increase.
  • The blessings already working in my life are not a finish line; they are seeds for an even greater harvest as I remain faithful and keep pressing forward.
  • I refuse to let past success become a reason to stop; I build on every blessing and use every breakthrough as a platform for greater fruitfulness.
  • God is my source and my sustainer, as I sow in obedience, He ensures that nothing I plant in faith returns to me void.

Reflection

Take a moment today to identify one key habit, discipline, or act of generosity that has been instrumental in your growth, something you may have quietly drifted away from. Consider what it would look like to recommit to that practice this week, not out of anxiety, but out of trust that God still honors faithful, steady sowing. Sustainability in the Kingdom rarely comes through dramatic, one-time efforts; it grows quietly in the soil of consistent, unspectacular faithfulness practiced long after the crowd has moved on.
