Devotional: The Branch That Did Not Break

You made it through a full week of demands, and the vine held.

That is not a small thing. Life this week pressed in from every direction, deadlines, relationships, disappointment, the slow grind of ordinary days that ask more than they give. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, you were promised you would break off from the source.

But Revelation 3:10 speaks into exactly that kind of week. Jesus looks at a small, pressured, ordinary church in Philadelphia and says something remarkable: because you have kept My word and have not denied My name, I will keep you. The word “keep” there is the Greek “tereo,” to guard, to watch over, to hold. He was not complimenting a perfect performance. He was honoring faithful endurance under real weight.

Father, I come to You with a week behind me and gratitude in my mouth. You have been faithful when I was weary, and Your mercies have not failed (Lamentations 3:22-23, CSB).

I worship You as the true Vine and the source of every good thing in my life. I acknowledge that every fruit of endurance this week came from staying connected to You, not from my own strength.
