Devotional: From Shame to Glory
Shame is not just an emotion.
It’s a demonic weapon.
It silences dreams.
It buries purpose.
It wraps destinies in disgrace.
But shame is not your portion.
You were not created for disgrace.
You were crowned, not condemned.
Psalm 8:5 (AMP) declares:
“Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You have crowned him with glory and honor.”
To be crowned means to be marked with divine identity.
It means to be clothed in dignity—not disgrace.
It means glory is your covering, not guilt.
Every garment of shame—catch fire.
Every voice of accusation—be silenced.
Every label of failure—be reversed.
Today, God is rewriting your story.
The same places where you were mocked—you will be honored.
The same people who looked down on you—will look up in awe.
You will not end in shame.
You will walk in glory.

FAQ
How do I stop feeling shame and walk in glory?
Shame is a weapon that silences your purpose, but it's not your portion. God crowned you with glory and honor (Psalm 8:5), not disgrace. Today, reject every garment of shame by declaring your divine identity in Christ. Stand on God's Word that your covering is glory, not guilt, and command every accusation to lose its power over you.
What does it mean to be crowned with glory and honor?
Being crowned means God has marked you with divine identity and clothed you in dignity. It's not something you earn—it's your inheritance as His child. This crown cannot be taken by circumstances, people's judgment, or past failures. Your glory is purchased by Jesus's blood and reflects God's character, not your performance.
Why does God want to clothe me with glory instead of shame?
God created you for honor, not disgrace. Shame is demonic and buries your destiny, but God's nature is to lift you up and restore your dignity. He called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Your worth isn't based on what you've done wrong—it's based on whose you are: a crowned child of the King.
How do I pray to overcome shame and reproach?
Start by thanking God for crowning you with glory and rejecting every label of failure. Confess where you've agreed with shame and repent. Then decree that disgrace has no authority over you and command it to burn away. Petition God to clothe you in honor and lift your head. Finally, intercede for others battling the same reproach, releasing God's glory over their lives.
