The Oil of Joy and the Exalted Horn

Today's Scripture

"You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy above your companions." (Hebrews 1:9, CSB)

Evening Spiritual Posture

Father, I come off this day and I lay it down. I enter Your presence with thanksgiving, grateful that Your mercies are new and that Your joy is still being poured out (Lamentations 3:22-23, CSB).

Entering God's Presence

Lord Jesus, You are the Anointed One, exalted above all, and it is into Your presence I step right now. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever, and the oil on Your head never runs dry (Hebrews 13:8, CSB).

Prayer for the Night

Jesus, You were anointed with the oil of joy above Your companions, so share that fresh oil of gladness with me tonight and let my exalted horn bring You honor, in Jesus' name.

Interceding for Others

Father, I bring before You every person reading this tonight who is running on empty. Pour fresh oil on them. Let the joy that anointed Your Son reach them in the dark.

Let prayer become daily.
