Peace That the World Cannot Give

Today's Scripture

"I am leaving you with a gift, peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid." (John 14:27, NLT)

Evening Spiritual Posture

Before praying, sit quietly for a moment. Release the tension in your body. Confess anything that feels like a wall between you and God, and then hand Him the weight you have been carrying. You are not approaching a distant throne.

Entering God's Presence

Father, I come to You with thanksgiving tonight, because You are not far off. You are near. I praise You that Your name is Prince of Peace, and that every promise You have made is yes and amen in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20, NLT).

Prayer for the Night

Lord Jesus, You said Your peace is unlike anything this world can offer, and I receive that peace tonight over every burden I have been carrying. I do not wait for the answer to arrive before I rest. I rest now, in Your Word, in Your name, in Your finished work.

Interceding for Others

Father, I lift to You those who are carrying burdens heavier than they let on. I ask that Your peace, the peace that only You can give, would reach them in their sleepless hours tonight.
