Laying Aside Every Weight

Today's Scripture

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us strip off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, and let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us." (Hebrews 12:1, AMP)

Daily Spiritual Posture

Before you pray, take one slow breath and release the noise of the morning. You are not coming to beg. You are coming to a Father who already knows your name, already sees the weight, and already has the answer. Come expectant.

Entering God's Presence

Father, I come to You with a grateful heart. You are the Author and Perfecter of faith, and every good thing in my life traces back to You (Hebrews 12:2, AMP).

Prayer of the Day

Lord, Your Word declares in Hebrews 12:1 (AMP) that I am to strip off every unnecessary weight and run with endurance the race set before me. So today I lay aside the weight of complacency and spiritual stagnation that has slowed my growth.

Interceding for Others

Father, I lift every believer who has grown weary in the race. Strengthen them with power through Your Spirit in their inner being (Ephesians 3:16, NIV).
