Stripping Away Every Weight to Run Your Race

Today's Scripture

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us." (Hebrews 12:1, ESV)

Daily Spiritual Posture

Before praying, take a slow breath and release what you have been gripping. Confess any distraction or entanglement that has pulled your eyes off the path. Hand it to God now, and step to the starting line clear.

Father, I come to You with gratitude, because the race I am running is one You designed for me. You are the author and perfecter of my faith (Hebrews 12:2, ESV), and I worship You before I ask You for anything.

Prayer of the Day

Jesus, as I press on into the call You have given me, help me strip away every weight and distraction that slows my stride, so I may run with endurance the race You have marked out for me.

Interceding for Others

Lord, I lift everyone today who feels buried under weight they were never meant to carry. Strengthen them to lay it down and trust You with the distance ahead.
