The Prayer Report: What People Actually Pray For
Behind every prayer is a person carrying something. At PrayerPrompt, a free Christian prayer community of nearly 10,000 believers, people from 28 countries bring those things to God every day. This year we looked at the prayers our community shared to understand one simple, human question: when people pray, what are they really asking for?
Here is what we found. Every number below is aggregate and anonymous. We never read or shared anyone's individual prayer.
Health is what we pray for most
Nearly one in three prayer requests (31%) was about health and healing, more than any other need by a wide margin. Whether it was their own body, a parent's diagnosis, or a child in the hospital, people came to God first with the fragility of the bodies He gave them.

Money came second (18%), ahead of family, career, and marriage. Together, health and finances made up almost half of every prayer shared. It is a quiet reminder that for most people, prayer begins where life feels most uncertain: the body and the bread.
We do not pray alone
Prayer at PrayerPrompt is not a solitary thing. This year, members prayed for one another's requests 2,730 times, more than four prayers offered for every single request shared. A stranger's struggle in one country became a reason to kneel in another. That is the part the numbers cannot fully capture: a global family choosing to carry each other's burdens.

Prayer without borders
The prayers came from 28 countries across 6 continents. The United States led, followed by India, Nigeria, South Africa, Canada, Australia, Uganda, the United Kingdom, Kenya, and Ghana, with voices from the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond. Different languages, different time zones, the same hunger to be heard by God.
What this tells us
The data is simple, but the picture is tender. People pray most for health and provision, the two places where we feel our own limits most sharply. And they do not do it alone. Across continents, believers are praying for people they will never meet. If you have ever wondered what the global Church is actually asking God for, this is part of the answer. It is mostly this: heal us, provide for us, and help us carry one another.
Methodology
These findings are drawn from prayers shared by the PrayerPrompt community through mid-2026. All figures are aggregate and anonymous. Need categories reflect the label each request was filed under; geographic figures reflect the country submitted with a prayer. We did not read, export, or publish any individual prayer, name, or contact detail. Percentages are rounded.
