“So David took the spear and the jug of water from Saul’s head, and they got away. No man saw it or knew it, nor did any awake, for they were all asleep, because a deep sleep from the Lord had fallen on them.” – 1 Samuel 26:12
Prayer of the Day: Uprooting Bitterness
Almighty God,
In the spirit of David’s restraint and wisdom as recounted in 1 Samuel 26, I seek Your help to confront and uproot any seeds of bitterness in my heart.
Guide me to address these feelings at their root—be it from past hurts, unresolved conflicts, or perceived injustices.
Fill me with Your Spirit of forgiveness and peace, that I may release any grudges and heal from the inside out.
Help me to act with grace and mercy, avoiding actions that might perpetuate pain or resentment, just as David spared Saul despite his wrongdoing.
Instill in me a heart that seeks reconciliation and understands the power of Your healing love.
Grant me the courage to let go of bitterness, embracing a life marked by joy and harmony.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
